Snaith helps to Settle in the Seven's
The New Year Seven have been in school for their first term. We wanted to know how they've been getting on. We asked a selection of them how easy it was to settle in, and what they are looking forward to their future years at The Snaith School.
Not knowing how to get around the school is always a big worry for the new Year Seven. It's a big change from the protection of their small primary schools, and everyone is scared of getting lost on their first day. Abby Benton of 7B told us "The school is great, but the rooms still get us mixed up sometimes." The school supplies everyone with a map, to help them find their way, but sometimes even that doesn't make sense. However, once you get used to the school, you know how to get to all of your lessons, and you learn to find your way around very quickly indeed.
Pupils in 7By were asked how easy it was for all of them to settle in to their new school. They told us "We found it very easy to settle in, everyone was very helpful and we're really enjoying it." We were really glad to hear this, and we hope that this is the same for all the other Year Seven pupils in the school. The 7By pupils also gave us some advice for all the Year Six looking to move to The Snaith School, which was "If you're lost or confused, don't be afraid to ask, everyone will do their best to help you out."
Finally, we asked Adele Wilson of 7W what she was looking forward to in their coming years at Snaith. She replied "I'm really excited about the East Barnby trip; I can't wait for it actually."
The East Barnby Trip is coming up straight after half term, and all the Year Seven going are excited about it. It is a three day visit, where you do climbing, orienteering, a gorge walk and so much more. When we were in Year Seven, we really enjoyed it and there is no doubt that this year's Year Seven will think that any less than we did.
