East Barnby LogoThere are two trips to East Barnby each year – this year the first was from the 29th to the 31st of October, the second between the 12th and 14th of November. All year 7 students are encouraged to go on this team building excursion, and it is great fun all round!

On the first visit, forms 7K, 7M and 7W went, with 7B, 7BY and 7J on the second.

Located in the North York Moors National Park, close to the picturesque town of Whitby, East Barnby is ideally situated to deliver any course. With over 30 activities to choose from, the activities encourage teamwork, problem solving and communication, combined with real adventurous experiences.

When they arrive they will be separated in to six teams containing of twelve pupils each. These will be form groups where possible, but one group will be mixed. On the day they arrive, after being sorted and fed, they will take part in their first activity.

East Barmby walk

Aforesaid activities will include:

Rock climbing

Dry slope skiing

Orienteering

Night orienteering

A gorge walk

Various water activities

`…I’ve had my head dunked underwater and had to go to the toilet in a sheep shed, but at the end of the day that’s all part of the adventure!”
