GCSE Business Studies
This course is assessed by a 75% examination and a piece of coursework (there is an option to do an additional exam to replace the coursework element).
Topics covered are:
- People in Business which looks at the work of the personnel department in recruiting, training, paying and motivating staff.
- Finance which looks at how businesses raise and handle money (cash flow forecasting, balance sheets and profit & loss accounts).
- Production investigates how things are manufactured.
- Marketing considers how businesses design a product, price it and then decide where to sell and advertise it.
