Pupils will work on aspects of number including fractions, decimals and percentages, and will be expected to work both with and without a calculator.

Pupils cover topics on algebra, shape and handling data at an appropriate level, using correct mathematical language.

Pupils will learn to communicate effectively through written and oral work.  They are expected to find ways to solve problems, to explain their thinking and to explain results.

Pupils are expected to bring their own equipment, including calculators.

Performance is assessed throughout the year and pupils are moved between groups if and when this is appropriate.
